It’s been lovely to have such wonderful art work in the workshop lately. We’ve just finished framing a collection of etchings and drawings by artist Niall Naessens, all set to travel up to Dublin for his exhibition L12121 Picture Panoply at the Graphic Studio Gallery in Temple Bar.
We wish Niall the best of luck for the opening night next Thursday, it opens at 6pm so if you are in the area, do drop in, it’s worth it!
There was a lovely piece on Radio Kerry last night with Marian O Flaherty about the famous film Ryan’s Daughter that was filmed here in West Kerry back in the late 60’s and early 70’s. We have a couple of original posters from the movie for sale in the shop at the moment. Very collectable! We also have a selection of smaller prints from the production.
Poster available from our shop right now, framed or unframed.
We all love a bit of bling from time to time. Amongst the many treasures in our shop at the moment are some amazing pieces of jewellery with precious and semi-precious gem stones. Here are some photos to tempt you! (They look even more fabulous in real life, call in if you’re in Dingle to have a look)
This weekend Dingle is celebrating Féile na Mara – Dingle Marine Festival so we thought we’d indulge in the nautical theme and share some of our marine treasures from the shop and gallery. What better way to start than with this lovely vintage postcard of the Old Dingle Pier, published by K. Griffin, Bridge Street, Dingle no less!
There is a great variety of other vintage postcards in the shop, very collectable. We also have gimballed ships alcohol compass, a brass porthole, pulley blocks and barometers. We even have pirate illustrations.
…and in the gallery we have a wonderful collection artwork by local artists.
