Deirdre McKenna is a native of Dingle town. She has been working in West Kerry as a professional visual artist since graduating from the Crawford College of Art and Design in 1999. Over the years Deirdre has exhibited her work and curated a variety of group and solo shows locally, nationally and internationally.
Deirdre has taken part in residencies at Cill Rialaig, artists retreat in Ballinskelligs and at Cló Ceardlann na gCnoc in Donegal.
Over the years she has been very involved in developing the visual arts in West Kerry. She is one of the founding members of the West Kerry fine art printmaking group Meitheal Eitseála – est. 2010 to promote and develop printmaking skills in the area and to support printmakers by providing a professional open access printmaking studio, exhibition gallery and education programme.
